Wire rope calculator
The wire rope calculator available on the EFMETAL website is a tool that allows you to calculate key rope parameters in a very quick and precise way. It determines the metallic cross-section, length, size and maximum reel capacity for a given rope.
The calculator has an option to compare MBL values, allowing the user to match the wire rope construction to the expected load.
All you need to do to get the expected calculations is to:
- Choose the wire rope construction.
- Specify the diameter and length.
- Determine the additional parameters (such as TS – tensile strength of a wire, which is usually 1770 or 1960 N/mm2 for the galvanized wire ropes, 1570N/mm2 for the stainless steel wire ropes, 1960N/mm2 and 2160N/mm2 for the special and high performance wire ropes).
- Read the results given in the appropriate units.
This tool is particularly useful for the specialists dealing with wire ropes, enabling them to match the product with their expectations.
